It is now February: I will try to make February less fail-ful.

blogging FAIL

Haaaaaa, oh man. It's been months, right? Eight months of silence.

I'm utter crap at maintaining a web presence of any sort. Easily distracted by shinies: that's me.

But, um, hey! After Ye Olde Holiday Season, I might actually start writing patterns like I meant to do, oh so long ago. Lately I've been having a sort of allergy-induced blah phase where I don't really want to do much of anything except try to get all the achievements in CivRev (5 to go!) so knitting 'n stuff have kind of fallen a couple of spots down my list of things to do.


At least now that I've updated a little, I won't be ashamed to link to it anymore. I've explained my half-assery, which makes it cool. Or something. Meh.

I think the first thing I want to do is tweak the pattern for those fingerless mitts I made back in July-ish, because they're cool and all but I'm not terribly happy with the thumbholes. I dunno, but I'll try to keep up on the blog a little instead of just letting it die and bringing it back to life several months later. Again.

Woot! The first version of the caffeine molecule knitting chart! I haven't actually tested it yet, but I've used a similar aspect ratio to other things I've charted out that've turned out okay.

The purple is embroidery, the green either colorwork or duplicate stitching.

This is also why it's the first version, not the final one. Part of what's so great about knitting is the way knitters can innovate and tweak things until they're juuuust right, and I only got inspired to make this yesterday.

Mea culpa!

Okay, so the pattern I was talking about last time (a crocheted lemon) still isn't complete, two months after I thought I'd finish it. For future reference, catching the flu = bad. Eesh.

On the other hand, I've got a knitting chart about ready to upload, and I've decided to try and finish a few things this weekend - including that lemon pattern. Mmmm, lemon.

Keep an eye out, people - I'll have my first pattern up here in a day or two.

I've been knitting and crocheting like mad lately. I keep meaning to paint those t-shirts but I haven't gotten around to them yet because new yarn ideas keep bonking me on the head. *shakes fist at yarn*
